Job Description
Regional company privately held for multiple generations. Established and stable organization seeks a Corporate Controller. Answering to the CFO, this is a critical role. Company has 500 employees across multiple locations in the Mid-Atlantic region. You and a small staff will have soup to nuts responsibility for Accounting, financial reporting, regulatory, budget and forecast functions. Staff includes: Assistant Controller, Payroll, Benefits, AP/AR, Revenue and Credit Specialists.
The chosen candidate will be responsible for taking on a leadership role in the financial decision making process and has access to all aspects of the Company.

- Manage day to day accounting department operations including A/R, A/P, G/L, cost, inventory, tax, payroll, HR and sales order while ensuring dual coverage of all functions,and serve as backup on critical functions.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting packages. Work with outside CPA firm.
- Facilitate the implementation of new accounting software.
- Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
- Manage and comply with local, state and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
- Design and develop financial models and forecasts.
- Manage 11 employees of the department, performance management and hiring.
- Develop, document and maintain accounting policies, procedures and internal controls to align with the Company objectives and with an eye on standardization and continuous improvement.
- Bachelors and/or Master’s Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in accounting.
- C.P.A. preferred.
- 5+ years experience in the accounting and finance sector.
- 4+ years experience managing accountants and the accounting and finance process.
- 3+ years in a position equivalent to a controller or higher responsibilities
- Public accounting firm audit experience is preferred but not required
- Strong experience in both the private and public accounting sectors is preferred but not required
