Database Architect

European based company, excellent work environment – international presence seeks a qualified Database Architect to add to their team.


  • Administer, build, configure, design, secure and monitor all SQL Server database environments
  • Lead a development team in the design, development, coding, testing and debugging of applications
  • Participate in strategic planning on the selection, development, and integration of multi-platform distributed databases
  • Works with development and database administration personnel to ensure optimal database performance, evaluating and making recommendations regarding code design, application interaction, physical design, etc.
  • Serving as a liaison to senior IT management, reporting on the status of current projects, identifying issues and assessing their impact, and proactively recommending solutions
  • Analyze database implementation methods to make sure they are in line with company policies and any external regulations that may apply
  • Create data monitoring models for each product and work with our marketing team to create new models as required by business needs
  • Develop database design and architecture documentation for the management and executive teams
  • Ensure logging/replication/clustering and scheduled ETL all perform optimally
  • Coordinate the effective use of the development team’s time and ensuring efficient communication between team members and other IT functional areas
  • Advise on configurations/design using current industry best practices
  • Help maintain the integrity and security of the company database

Job Qualifications

  • Expert in Migration of on-premise databases to private cloud, AWS, Azure
  • Expert in Agile development techniques
  • Proficient in relational database management systems (RDBMS), data architecture, data modeling, data warehousing, Object Oriented Methodologies, and Client/Server development
  • Expertise in CRM development and management of a top tier CRM solution (Dynamics CRM, SalesOptima, etc...)
  • Significant experience designing and integrating complex heterogeneous database environments
  • Experience in providing Production/application SQL Server support (administration, configuration, and monitoring) for both off the shelf and home-grown applications
  • Experience in design, development and performance tuning of all Microsoft SQL server-side processing (back end) and multiple forms of GUI (front end) development
  • Knowledge of SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) packages, Extract, Transform, Load (ETL), Power BI, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) and SQL Server Data Tools (SSDT)
  • Development and integration with SAAS applications
  • Development of Web Services / APIs to facilitate integration of customer-owned and non-customer owned data
  • SQL Server versions: 2016, 2014, 2012, 2008, 2005
  • SQL Server clustering, mirroring, backup/restore procedures, maintenance plans, disaster recovery planning, replication, SQL Server security patching and upgrades
  • Migration of Databases from old versions to new Versions using Pre-Migration and Post-Migration activities
  • Exhibits a sense of urgency when dealing with break fix issues that directly impact end user utilization
  • Ability to read/translate legacy code and implement small enhancements to legacy applications
