Director, Quality

This position is responsible for establishing a culture of innovation within the Quality organization, championing the deployment of superior processes in lieu of traditional inspection activities and ensuring the delivery of continuously improving value and compliance to customers and the business unit.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Directs all quality systems and operations
  • Manages utilization of equipment, facilities, and personnel to obtain maximum efficiency and meet performance objectives
  • Controls significant quality projects
  • Maintains authority over budget and scheduling
  • Brings all compliance issues to the attention of management
  • Leads the development and implementation of the Quality Assurance program and standards, including ISO 9001
  • Develops monitoring processes (e.g.: trending and tracking of errors, inspection findings, and internal audit results) to review and analyze data to determine if modifications or additions to the current QA program are necessary and creates recommendations to ensure organizational compliance
  • Identifies systematic problems and coordinates corrective actions, systems or process changes that will resolve problems and improve operations
  • Develops measurement systems based on quality assessment tools and practices, and manages the data
  • Coordinates organizational efforts for ISO 9000 standard compliance achievement (and other relevant standards)
  • Institutes quality management processes for the company through technical training and education programs and materials

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience in a related technical field
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, communication and writing skills
  • Ability to lead effective corrective action using disciplined problem solving methods and statistical analysis
  • In-depth knowledge of ISO 9001-2008 Standards
  • 6 Sigma Black Belt certification desired
