Human Resources Generalist

The HR Generalist performs general human resources capability to all functional areas including, but not limited to: executive consultation, selection and staffing for non-exempt recruiting, onboarding and separation of personnel, payroll assistance, policy administration, and employee relations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Reviews non-exempt employment applications and resumes and interviews applicants.
  • Conducts new employee orientation for non-exempt hires.
  • Researches and administers other applicant sourcing options for non-exempt positions.
  • Reviews time clock records and performs daily maintenance of attendance records.
  • Prepares and distributes disciplinary actions as may be required.
  • Assists in the preparation and implementation of HR policies, procedures and practices.
  • Supports general HR programs including training, FMLA administration, FFCRA administration, employment law compliance, compensation, job descriptions, benefits administration, employee relations and performance reviews.
  • Assists with documentation of human resources related events or investigations.
  • Assists with employee activities and events.
  • Assists with human resources and general requirements related to ISO 9001:2015 preparation and compliance.
  • Assists with records administration as it relates to personnel, safety, worker’s compensation and training.
  • Assists with payroll and HRIS administration.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or Business and two (2) years’ experience in an HR setting. A comparable combination of education and experience in the field will be considered.
  • Must understand and have basic experience with most or all of the core aspects of Human Resources.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Must possess a strong work ethic and demonstrate the ability to work independently.
  • Ability to utilize social media platforms for recruiting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products and the ability to become proficient in other HRIS and payroll software.
  • Knowledge of employment law practices.
  • Ability to deal effectively with a variety of people and situations.
  • Ability to work a non-standard schedule when required.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
