Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains Implementation Lead

This role will focus on overall support of GP environments including Development/customizations, Test, Disaster Recovery and Production.

Essential Functions:

  • Leads initiatives to implement and maintain Dynamics Great Plains (GP) functionality
  • Supports GP environments including Development, Test, Disaster Recovery and Production
  • Continuous improvement of configurations and processes
  • Supports integrations that create the ability to 3-way match PO, Receipt, and Invoice
  • Collaborates with all users and members of IT to ensure successful application and database implementations
  • Assists in solving production problems in a timely manner, including off hours and weekend support when necessary
  • Troubleshoots database and application errors
  • Installs, configures, upgrades and integrates third party applications and tools as needed
  • Serves as the application subject matter expert for daily support initiatives
  • Writes SQL scripts, queries, and ad hoc reports
  • Monitors application health, runs tests to diagnose problems, and takes action to fix internal software, third party add-ons, and SQL Server database
  • Dynamics GP related Visual Basic application development and support
  • Other duties as required and assigned

Skills / Position Requirements:

  • C# Development using Visual Studio Tool Kit for Microsoft Dynamics GP.
  • Dexterity development skills are a plus, but not required.
  • Accurate and logical problem solving independently and in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver a high-quality customer support experience with strong customer service skills.
  • Regularly exhibits a grow mindset with passion for lifelong learning and personal and professional development.
  • Experience with Microsoft technologies including Azure, SQL Server, Exchange, Active Directory, IIS, SharePoint and Office.
  • Excellent communication skills – spoken and written English including technical writing and the ability to deliver messaging to all levels of customer and partner organizations.
  • Strong debugging skills desired but not required, e.g. ability to read and analyze network traces, fiddler, SQL trace, etc.
  • Experience presenting technical content to both large and small audiences.
  • Experience setting up virtual environments (e.g Azure, AWS).
  • Accounting, business process, or financial/distribution related industry experience.
  • Degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or Accounting (preferred)

Educational & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year college or university strongly desired
  • Minimum 5 years relevant work experience in application support and/or implementation; or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Technology Skills:

  • Microsoft Great Plains versions 2013-2016 (2018 nice to have)
  • Great Plains user role and access management
  • Strong SQL development experience in SQL 2008-2017
  • SQL Server Database and query troubleshooting, tuning, indexing, and optimization
  • SQL Server Stored Procedure Design and implementation
  • SQL Application Development
  • Experience in performing upgrades to the Great Plains application and SQL Server
  • Strong understand on Accounting and Finance processes
  • Highly Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites - Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Highly Proficiency with Microsoft Project or similar project management tool, PowerPoint and Visio.
