Production Supervisor

This job will have the following responsibilities:

• Supervisory oversight of the equipment operations in the packing room
• Promote teamwork
• Maintain effective staff scheduling in production departments
• Implement effective cross training program
• Actively participate in the selection, hire, training and discipline of assigned employees
• Maintain the highest level of quality control
• Hold production meetings regularly
• Maintain the required production throughput to maximize efficiency
• Manage production equipment and its throughput for maximum output
• Coordinate with the facility production department for the correct schedule of finished product to be packed
• Ensure adequate inventory of supplies are on hand
• Providing production and quality control departments with paperwork in a timely manner
• Measure and monitor productivity of operations by maintaining and producing reports from each machine and department detailing key metrics
• Assists in production area by running machines, loading, unloading and storing product and supplies, and/or helping to prepare product, as needed
• Provide suggestions and opportunities for continuous improvement
• Coach and train individuals to help meet the standards
• Provide input for the plant Manager on all areas of production on a regular basis
• Manage overtime and meet the standards set forth by the Plant Manager
• Maintain up to date documented procedures for production area

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Position requires high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Minimum of 3 years food manufacturing experience is required,
• Good communication skills, both oral and written
• Requires prior supervisory experience or demonstrated ability
• Self-starter and self-motivated with high personal standards
• Ability to adapt to a dynamic and changing work environment
• Detail oriented
