R&D Manager


The Research and Development (R&D) Manager will develop successful product solutions through technical guidance and possessing significant knowledge in developing and improving baked products

  • Manages the R & D staff to assure effectiveness of the teams activities, team member development and department growth
  • Leads and manages a team of technical resources to effectively deliver on corporate growth & profitability initiatives
  • Possess in depth knowledge of bakery products and science; applies knowledge to deliver product & process solutions.
  • Ability to generate & lead high profile technical initiatives
  • Knowledgeable with bakery equipment, formulation, processes & packaging
  • Sound understanding of Bakery Ingredient functionality
  • Proven track record of continuous improvement through process, product or productivity gains
  • Identifies new product concepts which provide growth for future and meet overall strategy of growth
  • Leads the products through Stage & Gate discovery, development, & launch processes
  • Committed to quality- has a solid foundation in Bakery Plant GMP s, HACCP, Specifications and Policies
  • Provide leadership to enhance food safety and quality of all products manufactured
  • Works with vendors to identify innovative materials and processes, evaluate and implement to create new products or to implement improvements
  • Able to effectively build relationships & collaborate between cross functional departments
  • Act as front-line technical communicator with internal & external partners & customers
  • Effectively manages the Project Load- Provides clear & regular communications & updates- written & verbal
  • Provides input in all aspects of the company, supports company initiatives
  • Represents company at community events and supports various company events and meetings in positive manner


  • BS in Food related Sciences with significant experience in leading and effectively managing an R & D Team
  • 5yrs+ bakery/pastry/dough experience
  • Food ingredient background in a bakery/pastry setting: filling, yeast or flour is a plus
  • Possesses a proven track record of developing successful product solutions
  • Technical expert in the processed product field
  • Has a proven track record of successfully developing customer relationships that, results in significant growth of value added products.
  • Should be recognized leader in area of expertise and a valued contributor to achieving the goals of the corporation
